Apprentice - Housekeeping

About the role

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), part of the Tata Group, invites applications for an Apprentice in the Housekeeping department at Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, Cochin. The apprentice supports daily departmental activities and gains hands-on experience in a hotel through structured training, job rotation and on-the-job learning under supervision, guided by a contract of apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961. No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of day-to-day departmental tasks under guidance, such as guest check-in/check-out, room cleaning, food service, administrative support or kitchen prep
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to service delivery, cleanliness, safety and quality
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards at the workstation
• Engage professionally with guests and internal stakeholders
• Attend and participate in departmental briefings, on-the-job trainings and workshops
• Maintain a learning log or progress sheet as part of the apprenticeship program requirements
